Channel Diagram
This section shows a schematic diagram that displays all components (ZECs, Feeders, Broadcasters, and Receivers) and system objects (Sources, Channels, Targets) that relate to this Channel and the relationships between the various elements.
The diagram shows the following elements from left to right and their statuses1:
- Source component - the system that streams the stream. For example, ZEC or Broadcaster, AWS Media Source. The object is marked by its type (e.g., ZEC) and below it is the name of the component
- Ingest Cluster - the Cluster that hosts the component that sends the Source. The top name represents the Broadcaster Cluster name, under it is the Broadcaster name, and within Broadcaster is the Source Type (e.g., ZEC Source) and the Source name.
- Processing Cluster - the Cluster that performs the processing (e.g., Transcoding). The top name represents the Broadcaster Cluster name, under it is the Broadcaster name, and within Broadcaster is the Channel (e.g., ZEC Source), which includes the Channel name, and the Target Types with their respective Target names.
- AWS components - for AWS Media Channels the components may include AWS MediaConnect Flow and MediaLive Channel.
Only objects for which you have viewing permission are shown in the diagram. When an object that you are not authorized to view fills an essential role in the flow, then the object is shown with basic info but without detailed data.
Click on the +/- button to zoom in/out on the display.
When ZEN Master is displayed in a narrow window the diagram is displayed in a vertical orientation.
1Diagram visualizations are supported for ChromeTM and FirefoxTM browsers but not for Internet ExplorerTM or EdgeTM.
Play Inline
The Play Inline button will play the original MPEG Transport Stream in a player in the browser. Because the Zixi Broadcaster is often behind a firewall, when using ZEN Master the stream is proxied through the ZEN Master backend to which the user's browser has access. Previewing a video with "Play Inline" will only run for a few minutes each time and is intended to be a quick preview of the video. For longer term preview with no timeout, consider using VLC or WebRTC instead. Because it is the original transport stream being delivered to the browser via HTTP, the full bitrate of the stream will be transferred. This is different to webRTC, which transcodes the stream to a lower bitrate and is different from Zixi protocol that does lossless compression on the stream when possible.
To enable this feature, make sure that the Allow automatic HTTP Pull output setting in Broadcaster is enabled (Settings > Live Protocols > HTTP Server). Note that enabling this setting will require a restart.
