If when adding the Broadcaster Cluster, you selected the Manual option for the Management Type, you need to manually add Broadcasters to the cluster as follows.
To manually add a Broadcaster to a Cluster:
- In the main navigation, select Broadcasters.
- From the list of Broadcaster clusters, select the cluster to which you want to add a Broadcaster.
The details of the cluster are displayed at the right of the screen: In the Broadcasters section, click + Add Broadcaster.
In tab view, you need to first select the Broadcasters tab and then click on the + Add Broadcaster button.
The Create New Broadcaster window is displayed.
- In the Info section, in the Name field, type a logical name for the Broadcaster. This name is internal, so you don’t necessarily need to use exactly the same name used to configure the Zixi Broadcaster.
- The Broadcaster's location is used to represent it in the proper position in the Map display (see Maps). By default, the location is determined automatically based on the Broadcaster's IP. If you would like to manually set the location of the Broadcaster (Optional), use the following procedure:
- Click on the Edit icon next to the Location field.
A search box is shown below the Location field. - Enter identifying info for the location (e.g. street address, zip code, coordinates).
Search results are displayed below the search box as you type. - Click on the desired location.
The selected location populates the Location field.
- Click on the Edit icon next to the Location field.
- In the Configuration section, select the Broadcaster Type. Options are:
- Primary (default)– The Broadcaster functions as an active member of the cluster.
- Backup – The Broadcaster does not receive Sources/Channels unless all Primary Broadcasters are unavailable (or it is manually configured to receive that Source).
- If you would like to adjust the advanced settings, click on Advanced.
The Advanced settings are displayed: - Under Public IP, specify the public IP of the Broadcaster by selecting one of the following:
- Auto Detect (default) - select this checkbox if you want ZEN Master to detect the public IP automatically.
- Manual - To manually specify the public IP, deselect the checkbox and enter the broadcaster’s public IP in the IP field.
- Under Private IP, specify the public IP of the Broadcaster by selecting one of the following:
- Auto Detect/Use Public IP (default) - select this checkbox if you want ZEN Master to detect the public IP automatically or to use the public IP if the private IP is not detected.
Manual - If you would like to specify a separate private IP, deselect the checkbox and enter the broadcaster’s private IP in the IP field.
By specifying a private IP, you enable ZEN Master to access streams through the private IP. This enables you to view Source previews and send inter-cluster Sources over the private IP.
- In the Bandwidth Limits section, you can specify limits for the Input and Output bandwidth in Mbps.
- Click Save.
