Adding Broadcasters to a Managed Cluster

To add one or more Broadcasters to a Managed Cluster:

  1. In the main navigation, select Broadcasters.
  2. From the list of Broadcaster clusters, select the cluster to which you want to add a Broadcaster.
The details of the cluster are displayed at the right of the screen.
  3. Select the Broadcasters tab (for Tab view).
  4. Click + Add Broadcaster.
The Create New Broadcaster screen is displayed.
  5. In the Info section, In the Name field, by default, the name is pre-filled based on the cluster name and a timestamp, however it is possible to edit this name.
  6. The Broadcaster's location is used to represent it in the proper position in the Map display (see Maps). By default, the location is determined automatically based on the Broadcaster's IP. If you would like to manually set the location of the Broadcaster (Optional), use the following procedure:
    1. Click on the Edit icon next to the Location field.
A search box is shown below the Location field.
    2. Enter identifying info for the location (e.g. street address, zip code, coordinates).
Search results are displayed below the search box as you type.
    3. Click on the desired location.
The selected location populates the Location field.
  7. Select the Broadcaster Type. Options are:
    • Primary (default) – The Broadcaster functions as an active member of the cluster.
    • Backup – The Broadcaster does not receive Sources/Channels unless all Primary Broadcasters are unavailable (or it is manually configured to receive that Source).
  8. If you would like to adjust the advanced settings, click on Advanced.
    The Advanced settings are displayed:

  9. In the Streaming IP section, the Auto Detect checkbox is selected by default. If you would like to manually specify the streaming IP, deselect the checkbox and enter the broadcaster’s public IP in the IP.
  10. In the Private IP section, the Use Streaming IP checkbox is selected by default. If you would like to specify a separate private IP, deselect the checkbox and enter the broadcaster’s private IP in the IP.

By specifying a private IP, you enable ZEN Master to access streams through the private IP. This enables you to view Source previews over the private IP.

  11. In the Bandwidth Limits section, you can specify limits for the Input and Output.

  12. Click Save.
