Viewing Existing Zixi Feeders

After the Feeder resource is created, it is added to the list of Zixi Edge Devices. The list includes all types of Edge Devices, the type is indicated in the Type column. It is possible to filter the list by selecting the type with the checkboxes at the top.

When a Feeder is selected, the list pane is minimized and detailed info about the selected Feeder is shown on the right side of the screen. The info can be shown in Tab view or Accordion view, see INFO PAGES.

The following sections are shown in the info pane:

  • Details – configuration details of the Feeder.
  • Status/Performance – shows the main performance metrics for the Feeder.
  • Inputs - shows a list of available inputs on the Feeder.
  • History – a graphical display the Feeder's resource consumption over time.
  • Events - all the related events that have been generated by the system, such as connections, errors, warnings and disconnections. To learn about the data that is displayed in the Events tab see Events. Click Quick Report to generate a report of events related to this Source and download the .xls file. 
  • Notes – free-form text can be added with pertinent information about this Feeder.
  • Configuration – configuration procedures for manually connecting the Feeder to ZEN Master, including specific settings for this particular Feeder.

The main display shows following data:

Selection Checkbox

Select one or more Feeders and perform batch actions on all selected Feeders. Available actions are:

  • Mute All - disables notification for error/recovery events for the selected Feeders.
  • Unmute All – enables notification for error/recovery events for the selected Feeders.
  • Enable All – re-activates all active streams for the selected Feeders.
  • Disable All - stops all active streams for the selected Feeders without deleting the configuration of the Feeders.
  • Delete All – deletes the configuration for the selected Feeders.

Name

The name of the Zixi Feeder as configured in ZEN Master.
Status

The connection status of the Zixi Feeder. Possible values:

  • Green – OK
  • Red – error state
  • Gray – pending/disabled (waiting for initial connection)

The  icon next to a Feeder indicates that the Feeder is muted, disabling notifications for error/recovery events.

IP

The remote Zixi Feeder IP address as seen by ZEN Master.

CPU

The CPU utilization on the Zixi Feeder source machine.

RAM

The RAM utilization on the Zixi Feeder source machine.

UptimeThe time period that the Zixi Feeder has been online.

Version

The Zixi Feeder software version.

Actions

Open

Provides access to the Zixi Feeder UI (applicable to both cloud-based Zixi Feeders and on premise Zixi Feeders).

It is possible to add more columns to the list. If you want to view resources that were marked as Priority, add the Priority column and sort by it. 

When one of the Feeders in the list is selected, the details of the Feeder, divided into tabs, appear at the right side of the screen.

Name

The name of the Zixi Feeder as configured in ZEN Master.

Type

Tag

The Tag/s that is associated with this Feeder.
You can edit the tag/s as follows: click the Edit icon. Then, delete the current tag by clicking the "X" next to the tag. Add a new tag/s by selecting one or more tags from the dropdown list.

Events Configuration ProfileThe Events Profile that is applied to this Feeder.

API User

The username used to access the Zixi Feeder through the Zixi API in order to communicate between ZEN Master and the Zixi Feeder.

API Password

The password used to access the Zixi Feeder through the Zixi API. Click Show to display the password.

SSH Key

The name of the SSH key file.

Termination ProtectionIndicates whether the termination protection is enabled or disabled. The termination protection prevents deleting the Zixi Feeder. To delete it, you will need to first disable the Termination Protection.

Platform

The OS platform on the Feeder.

Source IP

The Source IP of the Feeder.

UptimeThe time period that the Zixi Feeder has been online.
Host IDThe Host ID of the Feeder.
Activation KeyClick on License Details to show the license details of this resource.

Version

The software version of the Zixi Feeder.

Open

A link to the Feeder UI.

Status/Performance

Shows the current CPU and RAM usage of the Feeder.

Inputs

Shows a list of all Inputs available in the Feeder, including information about their Status, Type, Source and Bitrate.

History

A graphical representation of the CPU and RAM utilization of the selected Feeder, displayed over time.

Events

A list of the events that were generated in ZEN Master in relation to the selected Zixi Feeder. To learn about viewing event logs in ZEN Master, see Events Click Quick Report to generate a report of events related to this feeder and download the .xls file.

Configuration

Shows an explanation of how to connect the selected Feeder to ZEN Master. This tab includes your personal connection configuration settings which are used to make the connection. See section Connecting the Zixi Feeder (Zixi Feeder UI).
