Viewing Existing ZEC

After the ZEC resource is created, it is added to the list of Zixi Edge Devices. The list includes all types of Edge Devices, the type is indicated in the Type column. It is possible to add a filter to the list and selecting the type of Zixi Edge Device. For more information, see Search Filter.

When a ZEC is selected, the list pane is minimized and detailed info about the selected ZEC is shown on the right side of the screen. The info can be shown in Tab view or Accordion view, see INFO PAGES.

The following sections are shown in the info pane:

  • Details – configuration details of the ZEC.
  • Status/Performance – shows the main performance metrics for the ZEC.
  • Inputs – shows a list of available inputs on the ZEC.
  • History – a graphical display the Feeder's resource consumption over time.
  • Events - all the related events that have been generated by the system, such as connections, errors, warnings and disconnections. To learn about the data that is displayed in the Events tab see Events. Click Quick Report to generate a report of events related to this Source and download the .xls file. 
  • Notes – free-form text can be added with pertinent information about this ZEC.
  • Configuration – configuration procedures for manually connecting the ZEC to ZEN Master, including specific settings for this particular Feeder.

The main display shows following data:

Description
Selection Checkbox

Select one or more ZECs and perform batch actions on all selected ZEC. Available actions are:

  • Mute All - disables notification for error/recovery events for the selected ZECs.
  • Unmute All – enables notification for error/recovery events for the selected ZECs.
  • Enable All – re-activates all active streams for the selected ZECs.
  • Disable All - stops all active streams for the selected Feeders without deleting the configuration of the ZECs.
  • Delete All – deletes the configuration for the selected ZECs.

Name

The name of the ZEC as configured in ZEN Master.
Status

The connection status of the ZEC. Possible values:

  • Green – OK
  • Red – error state
  • Gray – pending/disabled (waiting for initial connection)

The  icon next to a ZEC indicates that the Feeder is muted, disabling notifications for error/recovery events.

IP

The remote ZEC IP address as seen by ZEN Master.

CPU

The CPU utilization on the ZEC source machine.

RAM

The RAM utilization on the ZEC source machine.

UptimeThe time period that the ZEC has been online.

Version

The Zixi ZEC software version.

Actions

Open

Provides access to the ZEC UI (applicable to both cloud-based ZECs and on premise ZECs).

It is possible to add more columns to the list. If you want to view resources that were marked as Priority, add the Priority column and sort by it. 

When one of the ZECs in the list is selected, the details of the ZEC, divided into tabs, appear at the right side of the screen.

Details Tab
NameThe name of the ZEC as configured in ZEN Master.
TypeThe type of Zixi Edge Device.

Tags

The Tag/s that is associated with this ZEC.
You can edit the tag/s as follows: click the Edit icon. Then, delete the current tag by clicking the "X" next to the tag. Add a new tag/s by selecting one or more tags from the dropdown list.

Events Configuration ProfileThe Events Profile that is applied to this ZEC.

API User

The username used to access the ZEC through the Zixi API in order to communicate between ZEN Master and the Zixi Feeder.

API Password

The password used to access the ZEC through the Zixi API. Click Show to display the password.

SSH Key

The name of the SSH key file.

Platform

The OS platform on the ZEC.

Termination ProtectionIndicates whether the termination protection is enabled or disabled. The termination protection prevents deleting the ZEC. To delete it, you will need to first disable the Termination Protection.

Source IP

The Source IP of the ZEC.

UptimeThe time period that the ZEC has been online.
Host IDThe Host ID of the ZEC.
Activation KeyClick on License Details to show the license details of this resource.

Version

The software version of the ZEC.

Status/PerformanceShows the current CPU and RAM usage of the ZEC.
InputsShows a list of all Inputs available in the ZEC, including information about their Status, Type, Source and Bitrate.
HistoryA graphical representation of the CPU and RAM utilization of the selected ZEC, displayed over time.
EventsA list of the events that were generated in ZEN Master in relation to the selected ZEC. To learn about viewing event logs in ZEN Master, see EVENTS. Click Quick Report to generate a report of events related to this ZEC and download the .xls file.
ConfigurationShows an explanation of how to connect the selected ZEC to ZEN Master. This tab includes your personal connection configuration settings which are used to make the connection. See section CONNECTING THE ZEC (ZEC UI).
NotesShows free-form notes relevant to the ZEC.
