Adding Entitlement Targets

Entitlement is way for content originators to grant entitlements to share their content with other AWS accounts (subscriber accounts). Subscribers can then set up their own AWS Elemental MediaConnect flows using the originator's flow as their source.

When the subscriber sets up a flow based on the entitlement, the service generates an output on your flow to represent the stream from your flow to the subscriber's flow. This output is counted as part of the 50 maximum outputs that you can have on your flow.

The following procedure describes how to add an Entitlement Target in ZEN Master. In addition, an explanation of each of the configuration parameters is given in the table below. For more information about Entitlement, see - Sharing content in your AWS Elemental MediaConnect flow with other AWS accounts - AWS Elemental MediaConnect

Due to an AWS limitation, once the Entitlement target is created it cannot be moved to a different AWS MediaConnect Flow.

To add a new Entitlement Target:

  1. In the main navigation, click Targets.

  2. Click + Add.
The Create New Target window is displayed.

  3. Click on Entitlement.
The Create New Entitlement Target configuration window is displayed.

  4. In the Info section, in the Name field, enter a logical name for the Entitlement Target.

  5. In the Tags field, select one or more of the predefined Tags from the drop-down list.
Tags are used for access control. By selecting a Tag you are relating this target to that Tag. Tags are associated with certain roles (through the Users & Roles screen), and roles, in turn, are associated with users and user groups. If you would like to create a new Tag, see Creating a Tag.

  6. In the Events Configuration Profile field, select from the dropdown list the profile that you would like to apply to this Target. By default, the Default profile is applied. Events Profiles consist of a series of rules that determine precisely how various types of Events are logged and what results they trigger.

  7. In the Configuration section, in the AWS MediaConnect Flow field, select the relevant MediaConnect Flow from the drop-down menu.

  8. In the Data transfer subscriber fee percent field, enter the percentage of the entitlement data transfer fee that AWS should bill to the subscriber’s account. AWS will bill your account for the remainder. For example, if you specify 15, AWS bills the subscriber's account for 15% of the entitlement data transfer fee and your account for the remaining 85%.

  9. In the Subscriber account ID field, specify the subscriber's 12-digit AWS account ID. Don't include hyphens in the ID. This is the account ID of the receiving subscriber to which the stream will be sent to.

10.  In the Initial State section, select the Disabled checkbox if you would like to disable this Target upon initial configuration.

11.  Select the Muted checkbox if you would like to disable error/recovery notifications for this Target upon initial configuration.

You can Enable/Unmute the Target at any time.

12.  Click Save.

You can verify that the new Target was created by viewing the Source tab in the MediaConnect UI.
