To play a Zixi stream already being pulled to a broadcaster that is local to your machine, you must first push the stream from your local Zixi Receiver or Broadcaster to the local host network by configuring the following parameters:
Parameter | Value |
---|
Type | UDP |
Primary Source | Select the desired input |
Host | 127.0.0.1 |
Port | Enter an available port (do not to use a port that conflicts with other traffic), e.g. 6000 |
NIC | 127.0.0.1 |
TTL | 1 |
PCR Smoothing [ms] | 0 |
RTP | Unchecked |
Once you are streaming to the localhost, Open VLC to play a standard UDP stream from the same local host and port.
To play a UDP stream:
- Open VLC Player
On the Main Menu, click Media.
Sub-menu options are displayed.
- Click Open Network Stream.
- In the URL field, enter a UDP stream URL (e.g. udp://@127.0.0.1:your_specified_zixi_port)
- Click Play.
