Add UDP Output

To Add UDP Output:

  1. In the Zixi Feeder Inputs page, click the Actions 

    button for the incoming stream for which you want to configure an output.

  2. In the drop-down menu, click New Output. 
    The New output window with the settings of the selected input stream is displayed. You can modify any of these settings.

  3. Enter the unique Name that you want to configure on the Feeder.

  4. Select UDP Output as the Type of output.

  5. Enter the Input parameters (see Output Parameters Table below for additional parameters).

  6. If you would like to add this stream to an Output Group, select an existing Group from the dropdown list OR create a new group by clicking

    .(see Output Parameters Table below for additional details). 

  7. In the Host field, specify the IP address of the stream destination.

  8. In the Port field, specify the port of the destination.

  9. In the NIC field, select the network card from which the stream will be transmitted.

  10. Click OK. 
    The new UDP Output with its settings is created and now appears on the Outputs screen.

Name

Specify the unique name of the stream.

Specify what kind of activity is being performed on the stream.

Input



Input Name

Select the Input which has been previously configured as Input in the Feeder.

Program

If the stream is a Multi Program Transport Stream and you want to stream a specific program, select the relevant Program from the drop-down list. Select Original to stream all the programs in the stream.

Filter

Within the selected program you can stream specific PIDs by creating a Filter (see: Adding Filters to Input Stream (PID Filtering) section) and then selecting it from the Filter drop-down list. Select Original to stream all PIDs within the program.

Group

If your deployment includes a DNS Load Balancer, it is possible to group multiple outputs into a single Output Group. All the outputs created in Zixi Feeder within the same group and with the same host name, will be resolved into the same IP address. You can create a new output group or use an existing group. See Output Groups for more details.

Host

Specify the IP address of the stream destination.

Port

Specify the ports to listen on for the output streams.

Smoothing

Enables transmission of the output at the correct rate. Required when the receiving device is sensitive and can’t lock on to the stream (in such a case, the recommended latency is 100 - 1000 ms).

NIC

Specify the Network card used.

TTL

Specify the network Time-to-Live parameter.
