Adding Filters to Input Stream (PID Filtering)

Zixi Feeder can receive MPTS (Multi Program Transport Stream). If you do not wish to stream out all the programs included in an input stream, you can specify a PID filter for the input stream. The PID Filtering feature allows the user to filter the PIDs he would like to stream out as an output. The input MPEG-TS is composed of several PIDs, and the user can choose which PIDs to keep and which to remove.

To Add Filters to an Input Stream:

  1. In the Zixi Feeder Inputs page, click the Actions  button for the incoming stream that you want to filter.

  2. Click, Filters.
The Input Filters window for the selected input stream is displayed:

  3. In the Program drop-down list, select which programs you would like to include in the filter(s).

  4. In the Closed caption field drop-down list select which field includes closed captions.
The list of available PIDs is displayed.

  5. In the Filters pane click + New.
The New filter window is displayed.

  6. Specify the Filter Name. This is an internal name for the filter.

  7. Under PIDS, for each channel select Remove (will be removed from the filtered stream) or Keep (will be included in the filtered stream).

  8. Click OK. The new filter configuration is displayed under Filters. You can configure multiple filters for the same input stream.

  9. Select the desired filter and click Start to begin streaming the filtered stream.

  10. To configure the output for the filtered stream, see Creating Outputs in Feeder.

  11. Click Close.
