Feeder SSH Tunnels

SSH (Secure Shell) is a network protocol that allows a secure access over an encrypted connection. Reverse SSH is a technique that can be used to access systems (that are behind a firewall) from the outside world. 

To configure an SSH Tunnel:

  1. Fill in the details in the Server Connection section (see table below) to configure a connection to the server.
  2. Click Apply. 
  3. In the Reverse Tunnels section, click Add. 
    The Tunnel Details dialog appears:
  4. Type the Remote Source Port that will be used to connect. 
  5. In the Local Destination IP field, type the IP address of the Zixi Feeder.
  6. In the Local Destination Port, type the port number in the Zixi Feeder for the specific reverse SSH tunnel. 
  7. Click OK.

Server connection


Host

Specify the Host name or IP address of the remote server for the SSH connection.

SSH Port

Specify the port for the SSH connection.

Default:22

Username

Specify the username required for SSH connection.
Default: the username on the remote computer is the same as that on the local one.

Key File

Indicates if a key file has been uploaded.

Click Upload Key to upload a key file to the server.

Reverse tunnels


Remote Source Port

Displays the remote source port.

Local Destination IP

Displays the IP address of the local destination.

Local Destination Port

Displays the port number of the local destination.

Status

Displays the status of the SSH tunnel.
