The MediaLive HTTP Target can be used to create AWS MediaLive transcoding channels which can be targeted to a S3 Bucket, MediaStore or HTTP Server.

The following procedure describes how to add an AWS MediaLive HTTP Target in ZEN Master. In addition, an explanation of each of the configuration parameters is given in the table below.

To add a new MediaLive HTTP Target:

  1. In the main navigation, click Targets.
  2. Click + Add.
The Create New Target window is displayed.
  3. Click on MediaLive HTTP.
The Create New MediaLive HTTP Target window is displayed.
  4. In the Info section, in the Name field, enter a logical name for the MediaLive Target.
  5. In the Access Tags field, select one or more of the predefined Access Tags from the drop-down list.
Access Tags are used for access control. By selecting an Access Tag, you are relating this Target to that Access Tag. Access Tags are associated with certain roles (through the Users & Roles screen), and roles, in turn, are associated with users and user groups. If you would like to create a new Access Tag, see
    Creating an Access Tag.
  6. In the Events Configuration Profile field, select from the dropdown list the profile that you would like to apply to this Target. By default, the Default profile is applied.

Events Profiles consist of a series of rules that determine precisely how various types of Events are logged and what results they trigger.

  7. In the Configuration section, under Channel, select from the drop-down list an AWS MediaLive Channel that will be sent to the Target. (Optional field)

The Channel Type is automatically set as ZEN Master Channel and can’t be changed.

The Target will only become functional once a Channel has been assigned to it. However, you can configure the Target settings and then add a Channel to the Target after the initial configuration.

  8. Under Type, select S3 Bucket, MediaStore or HTTP Server.

  9. In the URI field, enter the Uniform Resource Identifier for the Target.

  10. Under Renditionsselect one or more Transcoding Profiles by clicking thebutton for the desired Source. Selected Transcoding Profiles are shown above the Filter (You can remove a Transcoding Profile by clicking the  button).

  11. In the Initial State section, select the Disabled checkbox if you would like to disable this Target upon initial configuration.

  12. Select the Muted checkbox if you would like to disable error/recovery notifications for this Target upon initial configuration.

You can Enable/Unmute the Channel at any time

  13. Click Save.

You can verify that the new Target was created by viewing the Source tab in the MediaConnect UI.
