The Broadcasters tab displays details on the various Broadcasters within the cluster.

You can click on the Actions Menu > Details for a specific Broadcaster or click the Broadcaster name on the left menu to show details about this Broadcaster.

The following is a brief description of the sections that are shown:

  • Performance – shows graphs resources utilization metrics (CPU, RAM, HDD)
  • Details - shows details about the broadcaster (e.g. IP, Host ID, Version etc.) as well as its status and license status. It also shows details about the protocol and ports used by the Broadcaster. If there is a configuration error then click the Update Configuration button to automatically update the configuration settings. This may require a restart of the Broadcaster.
  • History - shows a graphical representation of the system usage over time. The following graphs are shown:
    • System - shows system performance metrics over time. For broadcasters that are using NVIDIA GPU for transcoding, the History graph shows the GPU usage of the encoder pipeline, decoder pipeline and CUDA pipeline. The GPU memory consumption is also shown.
    • Network – shows the send and receive bitrates over time.
    • UDP Statistics - shows a graphical representation of the UDP Receive Errors that occurred over time. (This is helpful for isolating errors that occurred on the broadcaster itself from errors that occurred in the network).
  • Events – shows all events related to this Broadcaster that have been generated by the system, such as connections, errors, warnings and disconnections.
  • Insights – shows Insights graphs for the Broadcaster. For more information, see Insights.
  • Notes – free-form text can be added with pertinent information about this Broadcaster.

When one of the Broadcasters is selected, the details of that Broadcaster, divided into tabs, appears at the right side of the screen.

ParameterDescription
Details Tab
CPU The CPU utilization rate
RAMThe memory utilization rate
HDDThe Hard Drive utilization rate
StreamsDisplays the number of Inputs, Adaptive Groups and Outputs (left to right).
MaintenanceClick Set Maintenance to turn on maintenance mode which prevents new streams from being assigned to this Broadcaster.
OpenClick to access the Zixi Broadcaster UI.
API CredentialsClick Show to displays the API credentials between the ZEN Master and the Broadcaster. Click Copy Password to copy the password.
Activation KeyClick License Details to view the license status.

Location

The location of the Broadcaster. By default, the location is determined automatically based on the Broadcaster's IP. However it is possible to specify another location during configuration.
NetworkThe Network in which the Broadcaster is located. The Networks are discovered automatically by ZEN Master using IP-to-location method. A network is defined as an ASN from a specific country and region/state.

IP

The IP address of the Broadcaster.
Host IDThe Host ID of the Broadcaster.
Instance TypeThe AWS instance type.

Version

The software version of the Broadcaster.
UptimeThe time period that the Broadcaster has been online.
Created AtThe date and time in which the Broadcaster object was defined in ZEN Master.
Instance IDThe ID of the AWS instance.
Agent ZIndicates whether AgentZ has been installed for this Broadcaster. Agent Z is a Sidecar tool that sits on a Zixi Broadcaster, it acquires the system health data and other statistics locally and pushes it to ZEN Master. By enabling this option, ZEN Master will automatically install AgentZ on any existing and future Broadcasters connected to the Cluster. The feature is off by default. Due to AgentZ installation requiring a restart, ZEN Master will not auto-install AgentZ on a Broadcaster that already contains any inputs to avoid disturbing active streams.
System LogsClick Download Logs to download Broadcaster system logs.
Protocol

Indicates the Protocols used on this Broadcaster, the ports used for each protocol and their status:

Green - OK

Red- missing

Gray - not used by Zen Master

DTLS CertificateIndicates whether the DTLS certificate has been installed and its expiration date.
Events TabShows a list of the events that were generated in ZEN Master in relations to the specific cluster and its broadcasters. To learn about viewing event logs in ZEN Master, see Events. Click Quick Report to generate a report of events related to this broadcaster cluster and download the .xls file.
