You can add a Live Event and schedule it to begin at a certain period of time.       

To add a Live Event:

  1. In the main navigation, click Live Events.
  2. Click + Add.
    The Create New Live Events screen is displayed:

  3. In the Name field, enter a name for the Live Event.
  4. In the Access Tags field, select one or more of the predefined Access Tags from the drop-down list.
    Access Tags are used for access control. By selecting an Access a Tag, you are relating this Live Event to that Access Tag. Access Tags are associated with certain roles (through the Users & Roles screen), and roles, in turn, are associated with users and user groups. If you would like to create a new Access Tag, see Creating an Access a Tag

  5. In the Channel field, select a Failover Channel from the the drop-down list. The Failover Channel should include all the sources you will need for the live event, typically this will include a Slate source, a primary source (Preferred) and a backup source. It is possible to select multiple channels.

    The channel must include at least one Slate and one Non-Slate source.

    It is recommended to have multiple redundant channels with matching content and slate. In this case, the event phase transitions, and slating will be applied on all selected channels in parallel.
  6. In the Staging Mode field, select one of the following:
    • Auto – in this option the system will automatically move between the various stages.
    • Manual – in this mode, the times are a guideline only, and you will have to manually move between the various stages.
  7. If you want the Failover Channel to be disabled when the event completes, select the Disable Channel when the Event completes
  8. In the Start Time field, click to open the calendar and select the date and then the time in which the first event stage will begin.
  9. In the Pre-Live Duration field, enter the number of minutes of the Pre Live phase (minimum 5 minutes). The duration can be modified at any point including while it is taking place.
  10. In the Live Duration field, enter the number of minutes of the Live phase. The duration can be modified at any point including while it is taking place.
  11. In the Post Live Duration field, enter the number of minutes of the Post Live phaseIf you want to use promo clips that will be played out automatically during stage transitions or manually, under Clips, click the Add button and enter the clip’s Name and the URL of the TS file.
  12. Repeat step 9 to add additional clips.
  13. Under Stages, in the Name field, enter a name for the first stage.
  14. In the Duration, enter the duration of the stage in minutes. If the Staging Mode setting was set to Auto, the system will automatically move to the next stage when the duration has ended. The duration can be modified at any point including while it the event is taking place.
  15. In the Staging Mode fieldIf you want this stage to output the Slate, select one of the following:
  16. Auto – in this option the system will automatically move between the various stages.
  17. Manual – in this option you will have to manually move between the various Force Slate
  18. If you want this stage to include a promo clip that will be played will be played out automatically as the stage begins, under the Pre-roll clip field select the clip from the drop-down menu.
  19. Repeat steps 11-14 to add additional stages.
  20. Click Save.
