Sources are the input streams, which are managed in ZEN Master. A source can originate from a ZEC, a Broadcaster, an external source, such as external encoder or an external ZEC that has not been configured in the ZEN Master system, or an AWS MediaConnect Flow. All ZEN Master sources are managed on Broadcaster Ingest clusters in ZEN Master. If the input has already been configured on a Broadcaster cluster, then you can select Monitor Only in the New Source menu in order to manage the input in ZEN with limited functionality. If you would like to add a new input to a Broadcaster cluster and configure it to be managed in ZEN then select Zixi in the New Source menu. In the New Source menu you also specify the entity from which the source is being received, e.g. Feeder or Broadcaster.
You can also combine two or more binary identical sources to create a unifiedĀ Failover group that uses Zixi's patented DNA like re-sequencing algorithm to fill in missing packets for the sources.
If you would like to create a new Source with a configuration similar to an existing Source you can use the Clone feature, see Cloning a Source.
