Live Event Manual Controls

A Live Event in Auto Mode will automatically start, and then proceed through the pre-defined stages, based upon the configured start time and target durations. If at any time you need to override the pre-configure changes, the event screen provides action controls to drop or go back to slate, and to immediately advance or delay the next stage transition. This is useful for unforeseen changes to schedules such game delays, or event extensions, etc.

Manual Stage Transitions

For Events set to Manual, the times are guidelines only, and the event must be started, and the stages advanced, manually via the action controls. This mode is ideal for predefined occasional-use workflows with approximate or even unknown start times, such as breaking news.

  • Go to Slate / Drop Slate – this slate switching control will update the controlled channels to either drop, or go to slate, accordingly. The event, however, will remain in the current stage.
  • Switch to Manual Mode – switches from auto mode to manual mode. During an active Auto Mode event, at any time the event can be switched to manual and will obey only manual actions for the rest of the event. Once an event has switched to Manual Mode this action is final and the stages must be advanced manually for the event to complete.
  • Start Next Stage – advances the event to the next stage. If the event is in Auto Mode, the following transition will occur automatically per the pre-configured stage duration.
  • End Event - This action immediately moves the event to the completed stage, bypassing any intermediate stage and slating configurations.

Manually Force Promo Clip

If the live event was configured to include promo clips, you can manually force the playback of the promo clip at any time.

To manually force a promo clip:

  1. On the Live Event screen, at the bottom of the screen, hover your mouse over the desired promo clip.
  2. Click Insert.

The promo clip will be played immediately.

Manually Lock a Source

It is possible to lock a specific failover Source, which forces the playback of that specific source regardless of it's or the other sources status. So for example, if the broadcast have failed over from the preferred source to a backup/secondary source, in theory when the preferred source has returned to OK status the broadcast would automatically revert back to the preferred source. However if the backup source was locked, it will not revert back to the preferred source, even if its status is OK.

To manually lock a source:

  1. On the Live Event screen, on the Sources column, hover your mouse over the desired Source.
  2. Click Lock

The Source is locked and a lock icon is displayed on the Source.
