ZEC Fixing the Input Stream
The Fix feature can be used to normalize the timeline and/or replace broken frames in the stream:
Make timeline continuous - if there are timeline jumps in the source, this feature will normalize the timeline, making it continuous. For example, this feature can be useful if the source is an HLS stream that jumps to display ads. In this case, if you want the timeline to be continuous it is possible to achieve this by enabling this feature. Note that this feature creates a variant of the input, which means that it doubles your input.
Broken frames replacement - If the stream has frames with CC errors, the broken frames replacement feature replaces them with “skip” frames. This may solve issues such as an IRD that loses synchronization when receiving broken frames. Note that this feature creates a variant of the input, which means that it doubles your input.
The Fix process creates a new Input stream (Type - Error Concealed), which has the original Input (on which you selected the Fix action) as its source. In the following example, the original source is called “clocks-udp”. Following the Fix action, a new Input stream is created by the name “123”, in which “clocks-udp” is its Source.
To fix the Input Stream:
In the Inputs page, click the desired input stream that you want to fix.
Click the Actions button on the selected row and then choose Fix.
The following dialog is displayed.Enter a unique Stream ID for the Input Stream. This name will be the name/ID of the newly created stream, which includes the Fix process of the original Input.
Select the maximum concurrent connections to this stream from the Max. Outputs drop-down list. Default: Unlimited.
Select the Show in Matrix checkbox to display this stream in the Matrix (see Using the Matrix). Default: Selected.
Under Stream Parameters select the desired checkboxes:
Make timeline continuous - this option will normalize the timeline, making it continuous.
Broken frames replacement – this option replaces broken frames with “skip” frames.
Padding bitrate [kbps] - enter a value for the rate at which padding will be added to maintain a specific output transport bitrate.
PCR Interval - select the frequency at which Program Clock Reference is inserted into the outputs Transport stream. Options include:
ATSC standard - 100 ms
DVB standard - 40 ms
If you want to Enable encryption , select this checkbox (see Input Stream Parameters Table). For more information, see https://zixidocumentation.atlassian.net/wiki/x/OihYIwE.
