Every few minutes, ZEN Master polls data from the Zixi components in the deployment, including each system's current health check and system metrics and the current state of each source and target.

These metrics are stored in the database and ZEN Master displays historic graphs that show changes over time in values such as CPU usage, or bitrate:

Other event data, changes, and user actions, are logged in the objects Event Log.

Object Status Update and Alerting Mechanism

ZEN Master compares the latest state metric with recent status and behavior. This updated account of the object’s behavior is then translated into an updated status and, where necessary, the object's status is escalated to warning or error states.

If an object is escalated to an error status, ZEN Master may also generate an alert notification, depending on the alerting configuration.
