YouTube enables you to create a stream and begin streaming immediately or create the stream and schedule the streaming to take place at a later time.

To stream to YouTube:

  1. Login to Zixi Broadcaster.
  2. In the Main Navigation menu, click the Inputs
  3. In the Menu bar, click New Input.
    The Add a new input stream window is displayed.
  4. Select the type of Input based on the source stream.
  5. Fill in the fields with the relevant information, see Zixi Broadcaster User Guide.
  6. Click Ok.
    The new Input is created.
  7. In YouTube Studio's, at the top right corner click the Create button and then click Go Live.


  8. At the top, click Stream
    The following screen appears:
  9. Enter the stream details. These details are internal in YouTube and not used by Zixi Broadcaster.
  10. If you want to create an Event that will take place at a later time, toggle the Schedule for Later and then specify the date and time.
  11. Click Create Stream.
    The following screen is displayed:

    Leave the screen open while you setup the output in Zixi Broadcaster, as described in the following steps.
  12. On Zixi Broadcaster, in the Inputs tab, click the menu button for the Input that you have created.
  13. Click New Output.
    The Add new output window is displayed with the info of your Input Stream in place.
  14. Select RTMP for the output type.
    The window shows the fields that need to be configured for an RTMP output.
  15. In the Output Name field, enter a unique identifier for the output.
  16. On YouTube in the Stream name/key field (step 2), click Copy.
  17. On Zixi Broadcaster, delete the existing text in the Stream Name field and paste the copied text.
  18. On YouTube, copy the Stream URL.
  19. On Zixi Broadcaster, paste the copied text into the URL Specify additional Output settings as desired
  20. On Zixi Broadcaster, click OK.
    The output stream is created and will begin streaming.
  21. On YouTube, click Done.

    If the stream connected successfully you should be able to see a preview of the stream.
  22. On YouTube, do one of the following:
    1. To start streaming immediately, click Go Live.
    2. If you have created a future event, click Done.











To create a YouTube output using the stream to event method:

  1. Login to Zixi Broadcaster.
  2. In the Main Navigation menu, click the Inputs
  3. In the Menu bar, click New Input.
    The Add a new input stream window is displayed.
  4. Select the type of Input that you would like to create.
  5. Fill in the fields with the relevant information, see Zixi Broadcaster User Guide Adding Input Streams.
  6. Click Ok.
    The new Input is created.
  7. In the Inputs tab, click the menu button for the Input that you created.
  8. Click New Output.
    The Add new output window is displayed with the info of your Input Stream in place.
  9. Select RTMP for the output type.
    The window shows the fields that need to be configured for an RTMP output.
  10. In the Output Name field, enter a unique identifier for the output.
  11. In the Username field, enter the username of your YouTube account.
  12. In the Password field, enter the password of your YouTube account.
  13. Fill in the URL and Stream name with the streaming info of your YouTube account, as follows:
    1. In YouTube Studio's, at the top right corner click the Create a video or post.
    2. Click Go Live.
    3. At the top, click Stream
      The following screen appears:
    4. Enter the stream details.
    5. If you want to create an Event that will take place at a later time, toggle the Schedule for Later and then specify the date and time.
    6. Click Create Stream.
      The Stream Key Setup screen appears:
    7. Copy the Server URL and paste in the URL field of the New Output.
    8. Copy the Stream name/key and paste it in the Stream Name field of the New Output.
    9. In YouTube Studio click Next.
  14. In Zixi Broadcaster, specify additional Output settings as desired. See Zixi Broadcaster User Guide Adding RTMP Outputs.
  15. Click Ok.
  16. You can verify that the output is connected by viewing it in the Output The Status indicator should be Green and it should show the outgoing bitrate.

           
  17. In YouTube Studio, you will see a preview of the video stream:
  18. Do one of the following:
    1. To start streaming immediately, click Go Live.
    2. If you have created a future event, click Done
