ZiXi Feeder can receive MPTS (Multi Program Transport Stream). If you do not wish to stream out all the programs included in an input stream, you can specify a PID filter for the input stream. The PID Filtering feature allows the user to filter the PIDs he would like to stream out as an output. The input MPEG-TS is composed of several PIDs, and the user can choose which PIDs to keep and which to remove.
To Add Filters to an Input Stream:
- In the Zixi Feeder Inputs page, click the menu button for the incoming stream that you want to filter.
- Click, Filters.
The Input Filters window for the selected input stream is displayed: - In the Program drop-down list, select which programs you would like to include in the filter(s).
- In the Closed caption field drop-down list select which field includes closed captions.
The list of available PIDs is displayed. - In the Filters pane click + New.
The New filter window is displayed. - Specify the Filter Name. This is an internal name for the filter.
- Under PIDS, for each channel select Remove (will be removed from the filtered stream) or Keep (will be included in the filtered stream).
- Click OK. The new filter configuration is displayed under Filters. You can configure multiple filters for the same input stream.
- Select the desired filter and click Start to begin streaming the filtered stream.
- To configure the output for the filtered stream, see Creating Outputs in Feeder.
- Click Close.
