The following setting security procedure should be implemented following the installation and setup of all Zixi software components.

Changing the default login password

Zixi includes the default passwords for the “Admin”, “Operator” and “User” roles. The default password is “1234”. Following the installation, it is strongly recommended to modify these passwords to a “strong” password. 

Every organization has its own password policy, but generally, a strong password should include the following:

• Consist of at least six characters.
• Combine letters, numbers and symbols (@, #, $, %, etc.)
• Contains letters in both uppercase and lowercase

       To change the default passwords in Zixi Broadcaster:

1. Go to Settings > General.
2. In the Admin Password field, type a new strong password.

3. If you have selected the “Enable read/write user…” and/or “Enable read only user…” change the Operator and User passwords.
