This enables the Feeder to use two or more binary-identical streams for hitless failover. For additional information about hitless failover and redundancy options, refer to the ZR Guide.
To Add a Failover Stream:
- In the Zixi Feeder Inputs page, click the + New Input button in the Menu bar.
The Add Input window is displayed: - Enter the unique Input Name (an internal name) for the Feeder.
- Select Failover for the Input Source.
- Specify the Search window [ms] (see Input Stream Parameters Table below for details).
- Specify the Max bitrate [kbps] (see Input Stream Parameters Table below for details).
- Click the button.
The Source field is shown, with a dropdown list of available Sources. - Select a Sources source from the list of Sources.
- Repeat steps 6 and 7 for each Source that you would like to add to this Input.
- Select the checkbox next to the Source/s that you would like to designate as a backup.
- Click OK.

Parameter | Description |

Search window [ms] | The time period for which packets are compared. |
Max bitrate [kbps] | Specify the maximum expected bitrate for memory allocation. Recommended: 2X the actual bitrate, which will prevent buffer overruns. |
Source | Specify each Source that you would like to add to this Failover stream. |
Backup (checkbox) | Select the Source/s that you would like to designate as a backup. |
