You can directly connect a laptop to an available NIC on the rear panel and access the appliance's management functions through your web browser or through an SSH connection. 

Browser-based Access

1.  Do one of the following:
   1. Set the laptop network interface controller static IP to any on the range other than the default 50.50.50.50 / 255.255.255.0
   2.  Using the Zixi Appliance front panel, set ETH1 to the desired IP as described in Setting a Static IP.
2. Open your browser and navigate to: URL: http://[TARGET IP]/[MANAGEMENT PORT] (i.e. http://50.50.50.50:4444) 
   User: admin
   Password: 1234

SSH Access

1. Open Putty on the connected laptop (Download http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/download.html)
2. Open an SSH session to the target IP (i.e.50.50.50.50)
   User: zixi/ root 
   Password: zixi1234/ zixiroot1234
