The Rules section shows options for all of the rules for the selected Events Profile. The following information is shown:

ParameterDescription
NameThe name of the rule.
Disabled
  • Yes – indicates that the rule is disabled, so that no Events will be logged for this rule.
  • No or {blank} – indicates that the rule is enabled.
Generate Notification
  • OK – indicates that notifications will be sent out to relevant stakeholders when the object returns to an “OK” state.
  • Error – indicates that notifications will be sent out to relevant stakeholders when the object enters an error state.
  • {Blank} – indicates that no notifications will be sent out.
Stateful
  • Yes – indicates that the object’s state will be updated when an Event is logged.
  • No – indicates that the object’s state will not be updated when an Event is logged (i.e. this rule will not cause the object to go into an error or warning state).
Thresholds [W/E]For rules that are governed by thresholds, shows Displays the thresholds for generating escalating to/from warning (W) and to/from error (E) Eventsstates.
Warn Esc. [CT/WIN]
  • Shows the number of events (CT) that cause escalation from “warning” to “error” Events, and the window (WIN) of time that is considered for escalation/de-escalation.
  • For rules that are governed by thresholds, shows just the window of time that is considered for de-escalationWindows [W/E]
    Displays Warning/Error Window (minutes) time window values.
