The Transcoding Profiles screen displays all existing transcoding profiles and details about their configuration. When a profile is selected, the details of that profile are shown on the right side of the screen.

The main display includes the following data for each Transcoding Profile:

Parameter

Description

Name

The name of the transcoding profile as configured in ZEN Master.

Video

The main video transcoding settings:

  • Resolution
  • Bitrate
Video Codec

The video codec setting selected in the profile. Options include:

  • H.264
  • H.265
  • MPEG2

Audio

The main audio transcoding settings:

  • Bitrate
Audio Codec

The audio codec setting selected in the profile. Options include:

  • AAC
  • Dolby Digital Plus
  • MPGA (MPEG-1 layer2)

When you select a transcoding profile the details of the selected profile are shown on the right side of the screen.

The Details pane includes the following data for the selected profile:

Parameter

Description

Name

The name of the transcoding profile.

Video CodecThe codec that is used, e.g. H.264/AVC or H.265/HEVC.

Encoding profile

The encoding configuration type, options are:

  • Main
  • Baseline
  • High

Resolution

The video resolution settings.

FPS

The frame rate. Frames per second.

GOP

The number of frames in a GOP (Group of Pictures)

Closed GOP

Indicates whether or not the GOP is closed.

Fixed GOP

Indicates whether or not the GOP is fixed.

VBRIndicated whether or not Variable Bitrate was enabled.

Avg. Video Bitrate

The Average bitrate for the profile.

Max. Video Bitrate

The Maximum bitrate for the profile.

Performance

The performance of the transcoding ranging from 1 (Super Fast) to 8 (Very Slow).

B Frames

The maximal number of consecutive B frames in the GOP.

InterlacedIndicates whether or not Interlaced video was enabled.

Reference Frames

The number of frames that can be referenced for each frame.

HRD Buffer

The length of the HRD buffer in MPEG-2.

Chroma Subsampling
Audio Codec
Audio Profile
Audio Sampling Rate
Audio Gain

The audio gain increases/decreases the volume of an audio PID encoded using this profile.

  • Values between 0-1 means to decrease volume. 
  • Values > 1 means to increase volume.
  • 0 - (if allowed in that screen) means mute
  • 1 - no change
