You can automate a variety of different types of tasks in ZEN Master, such as enabling/disabling objects, setting cluster sizes, assigning/removing Targets to Channels etc. You can group together a series of tasks to include in a Task Set. For each task you can specify for which object instances the task will be run. You can then schedule the start and end times and the frequency at which the Task Set will run. In addition, you can manually activate any Task Set that you have defined in ZEN Master.
For example, if you are not licensed to broadcast a certain weekly program, you can create an automated task to disable the relevant Source for the duration of that program on a weekly basis. Similarly, if you are concerned that during certain peak times a certain Broadcaster Cluster will become overloaded, you can create an automated task to increase the number of broadcasters assigned to that Cluster during those peak times.
The work flow for automating actions is as follows:
- Define a new Task Set. See Adding a New Automation Task Set
- Add one or more tasks to the Task Set. See Adding Tasks to a Task Set
- Set one or more Schedules for executing the Task Set or run the Task Set manually. See Adding a Schedule to a Task Set and Manually Running a Task Set
