You can add a task to remove one or more Targets from a Channel. You can select one or more specific Targets or all Targets of a particular type.

To create a new Assign Targets to Channel task:

  1. In the main navigation, click Automation.
    The Automation screen opens.
  2. Select the Task Set for which you would like to add a task.
    Details of the selected Task Set are shown at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Click on the Tasks tab.
  4. Click + Add Task.
    The Add New Task window is displayed.

  5. In the Name field, enter a name for this task.
  6. In the Task Type, field select from the dropdown menu Remove Targets from Channel.
  7. In the Remove Targets from Channel By section, select the radio button for the way that you would like to define what objects the task applies to. One or more objects enables you to specify the particular object instances to include in the Task. Objects based on type and access tags enables you to specify the type of objects and associated Access Tags to include in the task.
  8. Specify the objects as follows:
    • If you selected One or more objects
      1. Click on the Select Targets
        A dropdown list of Sources is displayed.
      2. Select one or more Targets.

    • If you selected Objects based on type and access tags
      1. Select the checkbox next to the desired type of Targets. Options are: HTTP Targets, RTMP Targets, UDP/RTP Targets, Pull Targets or Push Targets.
      2. In the Access Tags field, select from the dropdown list one or more Access Tags.

        When Objects based on type and access tags is selected, only objects instances which are of the specified type and are associated with the specified Access Tag are included in the task. Therefore, at least one object type and one Access Tag must be selected.

        When Objects based on type and access tags is selected, the determination of which object instances are included in the task is made at the time of each execution of the task. So, for example, if the specified Access Tag was assigned to 5 Sources at the time of the initial run and was then assigned to two additional Sources prior to the second run, then the second run of the task will apply to all 7 Sources.


  9. In the # of Minutes… field, specify the number of minutes to delay starting this task from the beginning of the execution of the Task Set. The default value is "0" meaning that the task begins immediately when the Task Set is run.
  10. Click Save.
    The task is added to the specified Task Set.
